Recently, I had the chance to review this wonderful new CD by Yanni entitled Yanni “Voices”, and I have to say that I really enjoyed listening to it. If you’re a Yanni fan you will love this new CD that contains some of his classic compositions re-interpreted, as well as some new songs.
Yanni Voices, also unveils 4 new amazing vocal artists, artists Nathan Pacheco, Chloe, Ender Thomas and Leslie Mills, have all been discovered and produced by Yanni and Ric Wake. Their voices are incredible and really add to the overall experience of the cd. Their voices soar throughout the cd, evoking incredible beauty and emotion.
Nathan Pacheco is a Washington, DC native, also writes lyrics in Spanish, Portuguese and Italian. But it is his operatic singing voice that draws people’s attention. After auditioning for Ric Wake, he set to writing lyrics and additional music for some of Yanni’s classic pieces.
Chloe is a native of Largo, Florida and has been singing from a very young age. Working with Yanni and Ric wake has been a tremendous learning experience for her. Yanni takes advantage of her opera training when she was younger and utilizes it on this CD.
Ender Thomas is a Venezualan native who grew up in a musical family. Introduced to Yanni and Wake when they were looking for someone who could sing in Spanish, they were impressed by his amazingly emotive vocals and asked him to join this project..
Leslie Mills is a native of Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky and studied piano, dance and theater from childhood on. She has recorded several albums, and jumped at the chance to be involved in this project with Yanni and Wake.
The CD is a wonderful mix of classic Yanni, combined with soul- stirring, slow jazz delights and something that I’d recommend everyone experience.
