Great TV on DVD- TV shows seem to have a cult following these days. Everyone has their favorite sitcoms they could watch over and over. Some people get hooked on a series after the first few seasons and have never seen the beginning shows. Giving TV series’ DVD box sets for the holidays is sure to please anyone on your list. Some popular series include:

“Desperate Housewives”
“Scrubs”

Dan Brown – “Lost Symbol”
Michael Crichton – “Pirate Latitudes”
John Grisham – “Ford County”
Barbara Kingsolver – “The Lacuna”
Stephen King – “Under the Sun”

For example, you could pick up a Fender Acoustic Guitar package with strap, picks, extra strings and a cleaning cloth, or a Gibson Maestro Electric Guitar package with amp, cable, picks, extra strings, strap and learn-to-play DVD for the rock star in training on your list. No extra stops needed when you shop at an entertainment specialty store to pick up the instrument and all of the accessories!
Video Games- Gaming systems are the gifts that keep giving all year round. Think of the system as the jumpstart to a charm bracelet. You can buy games, just as you do charms for the bracelet, to add to the system for every occasion throughout the year. Trans- Siberian Orchestra question.?
Trans- Siberian Orchestra question.?
I saw the TSO a few years ago. They are awesome. My family and some friends just bought eight tickets to see them again this December. I now realize, according to the schedule which places them in two different cities on the same day at the same times, that there are two companies now. I did a little reading and realized that both companies comprise of 24 musicians and the same amazing pyrotechnics as usual. My question is, I am going to the Pittsburg show…am I seeing the band that made the CDs, did they both? Will I not be able to tell the difference? Does anyone know?
Usually they split the actual band members between the two companies, so neither group has all the members. They get hired guns to fill in the other spots on each touring line-up.
And by the way, if you’re that big into Trans Siberian Orchestra, I would definitely track down the Savatage albums Edge of Thorns, Handful of Rain, Dead Winter Dead, and The Wake of Magellan. (Trans Siberian Orchestra started as a Savatage side project, and “Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12-24)” actually first appeared on Dead Winter Dead.)
If you end up loving those, then also try Poets and Madmen and Streets.
Okay, did some research: This year, the only main TSO member on the “West group” seems to be Al Pitrelli, whereas the “East group” has members Chris Caffery, Jeff Plate, Johnny Lee Middleton, AND Alex Skolnick (hells yeah).
Though the tours run confusingly sometimes, you are getting the East group in Pittsburgh (as am I, in Atlanta!)
Cheers, have fun, and rock on…
